Birdie Sync updated and now all the contacts in my list are gone.
Of course I havent backed up a in bit and want to keep the changes I made locally to my contacts.
What needs to be done to find the contacts on my phone?

It looks as though Funambol is a way to do this. I dont have an Android phone, but I did install the Funambol Server on my PC and also the Thinderbird Sync connector and I can sync between thunderbird, the server and also an iPod i tried. I like this idea.
I have been looking at the new Android based phones, but refuse to store my data outside of my control.
If i can sync to my NAS, that would be perfect.
either this or some sort of local Android Sync would be great to have!!

It would be great to have birdiesync with android.
My trep pro is good but the only thing keeping me on it is the ability to sync with thunderbird and it's calendar.
I refuse to go cloud and store my data with google.
Local is the only way I will sync my data.
