BirdieSync stuck at Searching for Thunderbird release

:( BirdieSync 3.2.7.0 has been working great for me, but starting on Saturday, when I tried to sync my iPhone, it just spins forever with the message "Searching for Thunderbird 'default-release-1'" which is indeed what my Thunderbird instance is. But BirdieSync doesn't see it for some reason and it ...

Re: Thunderbird 3.2.4.2 -- Sooooo sloooow

It's much faster now, not as fast as before, but tolerable. I always had the option checked before and never had this problem. Oh well. It's better now.

Re: Thunderbird 3.2.4.2 -- Sooooo sloooow

Thank you for your response. I have 546 contacts in my address book. I did read that the first sync would be longer, so I accepted that. But in each subsequent sync, the checking for duplicates part still takes 10 to 15 minutes. I am now on Thunderbird 78.2.1 as of a couple of days ago. I'll see if ...

Thunderbird 3.2.4.2 -- Sooooo sloooow

I think this started with 3.2.4.0, but sync used to take a few seconds and now it takes ten minutes or so. Is this supposed to happen? It definitely doesn't feel like an improvement. :(

Re: Got no emails from the news section

I'm still not being notified of items in the News forum. I am "watching" it in my settings, but I don't get any email when there is a new item in News. I did just get an email when someone replied to my post in this topic, so it isn't that I can't get any emails at all, just the News items. ________...

Re: Norton is removing Birdiesync

Thanks, DeroN! That did the trick. My Birdiesync didn't go away today.

Norton is removing Birdiesync

Twice I've discovered that Birdiesync has been removed after I successfully installed it. Today I found out that it was Norton Internet Security that removed it for "suspicious behavior." I was installing the latest version, Birdiesync 2.4.0.0. What's going on? I've been using Birdiesync for almost ...

Re: Got no emails from the news section

I also seem to be not getting any email from the news forum that I am "watching." I just realized that the new Thunderbird 10 compatible version was available.

Re: Windows Installation

Okay, I found the existing one. I have Windows 7 64-bit. Now I assume I delete it from there. Where exactly do I put it in HKCU? I want to make it so that only my user account will be using it. I don't see any existing Run keys, so I'm confused. Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Windows Installation

That sounds like what I need to do, but I'm not familiar with where the autostart entry would be for Birdiesync. Can you be more specific about where in the registry to put the new entry (HKCU) and where the old one is (HKLM)? Thanks.

How to restrict to one Windows user account

I have two user accounts on my Windows 7 computer, one for me and one for my daughter. I use Birdiesync to synchronize my Thunderbird contacts with my iPod Touch. I don't want to sync the addresses from my daughter's Thunderbird contacts to my iPod. How do I control that? Or can I?
