I was able to fix this problem.
My issue was failing to uninstall the BirdieSync windows app COMPLETELY, before doing the re-install.

Thanks for your quick response. I do update Norton Security's malware definitions as quickly as possible, using their automatic LiveUpdate. Just glad that you didn't find anything that needed fixing.
