Ok.... I'd upgraded to Lightning 0.5 a week ago. I downloaded the latest 1.5.7.0 of BirdieSync, connected my 02 XDA mini via IR, ran BirdieSync it and the problem is the same. BirdieSync paused on "Registering desktopProvider.dll" and never continued. I had to kill it from the Task Manager. Install....

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. My domain username has full admin rights, and I have even tried loging in as the local administrator. In all cases the installer stops while trying to register DesktopProvider.dll. Versions are: BirdieSync 1.5.4.3 ActiveSync 4.5.0 Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 Lighting 0.3...
