Re: Thunderbird extension not initializing
Sorry, now OK. The upgrade to 3.2.1.2 had failed because of firewall/virus checker issues with your setup file. Trusted you and overrode these, now seems OK.

Re: Thunderbird extension not initializing
Upgraded Thunderbird to 60.3.1
Upgraded Birdiesync to 3.2.1.2
Thunderbird Add ons says Birdiesync not compatible. There is no option to remove.
Saw method above but when I go to uninstall in Windows 10 the Windows uninstall button does not have a “keep data” check, just the Uninstall button.

Re: Folder Synchronization Mode and Remote/Local items
i think I must be setting something up wrongly. I have Tbird on my desktop and on my laptop. I have the BS app on my HTC android phone. I regularly sync the desktop and phone and the creation/deletion of contacts between the two works fine, irrespective of where the contact was created/deleted. a we...

Re: Folder Synchronization Mode and Remote/Local items
I agree a helpful discussion. At the moment I keep preview on to make sure I haven't misunderstood the combinations. Having connected a second phone to the Tbird on the desktop I was almost caught out when the phone was classified as the "local".

Re: Folder Synchronization Mode and Remote/Local items
It is a bit complicated, but the examples you go through have made it clear for me. Not sure you will be able to condense the explanation much, because it relies for clarity on the examples you describe.

Re: Multiple user set up
Yes, we have Tbird on our desktop with the Personal Address Book holding our family and friends addresses. It is not difficult for me to find a way round this.

Re: Multiple user set up
Very clear, but as I understand it then, if Personal Address book in Thunderbird is set as main, then it can't be shared between my wife's and my phone?

Re: Folder Synchronization Mode and Remote/Local items
am also a bit confused by the terminology, but in my case I would appreciate a better understanding of the difference between "way" and "mode". A couple of examples would help. I also had the long "preparing to sync" experience, so I wondered if I had these way and mode settings wrong.

Re: Multiple user set up
Thanks, is it necessary to have a main? What does the concept "main" drive or determine?

Multiple user set up
I like the structure of the new version. I have desktop and notebook, both with Thunderbird and Android phone. My wife also has android phone but shares the desktop. In the main Thunderbird (desktop) we have several address books, some just relevant to me, so I only want to sync those with my mobile...

Unknown contact group
I have just done my first sync from Tbird to HTC One mini with up to date Android version. I have several address books and these have gone over fine as groups. But another group has been created with no contacts. Anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?
