Sunbird Sync Failure: "Too many occurences"
I've got a O2 XDA, upgraded to WM 6, which I sync to a desktop and a laptop. I'm running old versions of Sunbird/Thunderbird, and thus BirdieSync. So as part of preparing to upgrade, I tried to tidy up the calendar and to do lists. Specifically, in Sunbird, I deleted a bunch of weekly tasks from the...

Upgrade to WM 6: BEWARE!
I've just upgraded my PDA/Phone from WM5 to WM6. The good news is that BirdieSync still works. But a couple of points to watch out for: 1) The WM upgrade will clobber everything on your PDA. So you'll have to re-install BirdieSync (and any other software you have on the PDA). So make sure you've got...

Comments on procedure to install, upgrade or uninstall
I've just tried following these instructions to upgrade from 1.6.3 to 1.6.4 Nothing actually went wrong, but following these instructions was not fun :( Upgrading is uninstalling then re-installing. OK. And the first step to uninstall is to close Thunderbird and Sunbird. OK some more. Then "Run the ...

Found the solution...
I've managed to sort this. I rummaged around, trying to find what in Sunbird still knew about the old BirdieSync. I found it in an "extensions.ini" file. To find out more about this file, I Googled for "Sunbird" and "extensions.ini". And it brought me straight to the Birdiesync site, and the "Proced...

Upgrade to 1.6 failed
I have a XDA Orbit running Windows Mobile 5.1, and I was happily using Birdiesync 1.5.5 to talk to Sunbird 0.5 on a laptop and desktop PC. Then Sunbird on the PC prompted me to install version 0.7. So I let it upgrade itself, but discovered that the palmtop would no longer sync. Checking the "add-on...

Weirder and Weirder
In fact, I have just discovered misbehaviour within the contacts application. When I try to do a search for "Call", the contacts application displays a list of matching records, with the matching parts highlighted. Things like "Callum" Trick is, one of the records that matches is "Edinburgh Central ...

Problem more subtle now
Well, I thought I had everything working. But no. I've just noticed that searching is still behaving strangely on the PDA. When I search for "south" I get eight matches, all "Contacts". The first match (Duncan) is someone who lives in "Southgate Road", so that's fine. But the next two matches (both ...

That worked, but...
...only after resets! I tried the trick of moving all the addresses to a different Thunderbird address book, then doing a sync. Contacts on the PDA emptied... But Search still didn't work!! It didn't find anything for anything. So I did a reset on the PDA. And searching started working again. So I m...

Hi, Birdy! The "search" feature used to work for me, too:( It is only since I put my contacts on the machine that it has started giving problems. If moving all the contacts to another Thunderbird address book will delete them on the PDA, then that sounds like a way forward. If nothing else, I can "t...

Help! BirdieSync has broken PDA search!
I'm a former Palm user who is just setting up Birdie to work with a new Windows Mobile 5.0 device (an O2 XDA) and Thunderbird + Sunbird on Win XP. The only things that I have put onto the handheld are BirdieSync 1.5.4.5 and the contacts database from Thunderbird. Yet now, the "Search" function on th...
