Syncing recurring events within a time range

Post by tobiasly »

When I first synced my Events with my mobile phone, I didn't want to sync all past events so I changed it to sync only the past 3 weeks. This seemed to work pretty well, except for recurring events. For example, I have an event from a year or so ago that repeats once a month, so I want to see that event on my phone, since it has instances in the past 3 weeks as well as into the future. But because the "original" event was a year ago, it doesn't sync.

So I ended up having it sync all events, but I really don't want all that old stuff taking up my phone's memory. The Outlook calendar sync works the way I described above; if *any instance* of a recurring event is in your time window, it will get synced, not just the first occurrence.

Any chance of this getting improved upon in a future release?

Hello,

Yes it is a know problem due to the current Lightning/Sunbird behavior. I think it should be fixed in a next release.
