Error while syncing with Birdiesync 220.127.116.11 beta

I just test this version.
First, in the last message of the installation, it is told to activate the synchronisation with Thunderbird in options of ActiveSync: this is wrong as Thunderbird doesn't appear (now there is "Cards" and "Events" and they are automatically selected).
But my main problem concern 2 events not resolved: I can't known which ones are involved !

Regarding the installation message, I will make a correction in the next release.
I am a little bit surprised by the fact that Cards and events are automatically selected... It's true if you ask for a new Partnership. If you don't they should not be selected. But I will have a look to it.
They are two possible reasons to have unresolved items:
- the first one (the normal one) is because an item was modified simultaneously on the device and on the desktop. Clicking on the unresolved items should ask you to choose which one you wan to keep.
- the second reason (the unusual one) is that there had been a problem during synchronization. Of course, this should not happen...
- You can have a look to the file DesktopProvider.log in desktop BirdieSync directory. The event causing the problem should be mentioned.
What I suggest is send me the log files (mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org
): DesktopProvider.log and ExternalService.log and in the device BirdieSync installation directory: DeviceProvider.log and describe me the faulty event (is it a recurring event ?, an all day event, etc...) so I can reproduce the problem and give a correction.

I solved the problem by identification of the 2 events in logs files: I deleted them and recreated both. Now all is find.
These 2 events were recurring one as plenty of others in my calendar ! Why these ones and not other I don't really know !
And I'm sorry but I deleted logs files before reading your answer.
An other problem is that each event and each card are create twice in the pda and in Thunderbird after the first synchronisation !

Too bad. If the events came from Outlook. It could be usefull to synchronize them from Outlook and then synchronize them with Lightning (on a new calendar for instance). I would really be interested by these faulty events.
Could you at least give a precise description of this faulty event to me (if recurring, periodicity, start date, end date, ...) ? I could try to reproduce the problem.
Small question: did time zones were the same on mobile and in Lightning ?
Regarding the double contacts and events, when first synchronizing, did you ask for an association instead of a replacement ? If you choose "associate" and you have events and cards on mobile and desktop, they will be duplicated (normal behavior). That's why we generally use association with en empty desktop to transfer mobile items on desktop.

Bads events: Recursively, with a startup date before 1970 (Lightning don't accept date before 1970). It was 2 birthday: I wish to show the age so the event start at the birthday and has no end.
Date time are the same in lightning and outlook mobil
The calendar of lightning was totally empty before the first synchronisation! And I set for an association as I didn't want that the empty calendar erase my PDA events (about 250 events).
May I help you any more ?

When you say no end. Do you mean the recurrence is not limited in time ?
Is it an "all day" event (no start and end time) ?
Do you think you could have modified a particular occurence of this recurring series ?
Are the faulty events before 1970 and all the other ones after 1970 ? In that case, it would mean that the problem regards dates before 1970 (a sad point it is not supported by Lightning...).
Regarding events that are duplicated with association, I will do some tests.

I checked association mode with an empty address book and an empty calendar. Everything worked properly and I have no duplicates. Are you sure your address book and calendar were empty ? Maybe it is not your case but another possibility is that two calendars are selected at the same time in Lightning. If their content are identical, that can give the impression that everything is duplicated. How many calendars do you have ?

Okay, I think I know what happen.
"Cards" was not empty, this is why cards has been duplicate I guess. Then , has my PDA create an event if Birthday is fill up, it creates a new event for each duplicate card.
This should be an explanation, do you agree ?
PS: I have only one calendar !

I created a contact with a birthday date filled up but it didn't create any appointment in the Pocket Outlook calendar. Are you sure it is not only an Outlook (the desktop one) feature ? Or maybe I missed something...
Only birthday events are duplicated ?
Do you have more precise information regarding the faulty event (cf 3 posts ago) ?

I created a contact with a birthday date filled up and it create an appointment in the Pocket Outlook calendar. But it is perhaps because I'm using Agenda Fusion. It was not set at the begining: I set it my self (but I don't remenber how...)
About the event:
The recurrence was not limited in time and it was an "all day"
I haven't modified a particular occurence of this recurring series.

I think your analysis of the reasons of duplication was very well spot-on. Cards were duplicated and Agenda Fusion duplicated the birthday events automatically.
Regarding the event, I don't succeed in reproducing the problem. I would need more details. If you have a backup of your original appointments like a .pst export file in Outlook, I would be interested in testing their synchronization. But as it contains private data, I would understand if you'd prefer not to send it to me, even if of course I would only focus on the event generating an error.

I found a potential problem with recurring appointments due to standard/daylight changes. Maybe your synchronization problem could be related to that. It was corrected in version beta 18.104.22.168
I know that you used a workaround to deal with your synchronization problem but it was just to keep you informed

Thank's a lot, I will try it ASAP
I tried it: it works, but I didn't notice any progress when I initiate the synchro. The best way is to have one part (pda or ligthning) empty. Each time, I choose to synchronize cards: this is perhaps a wrong choice. Next time, I will choose that the computer erase the pda : it would be better to avoid duplicate cards.
