Yep. It will crash if you have both Lightning 0.5 and BirdieSync 1.5.4.3 going. You need to disable one or the other in No Extension mode.

I chose to disable BirdieSync so I can update Lightning manually in TB 2.0

BTW - You can't go backwards to Lightning 0.31 once you have chosen the 0.5RC1 path. Thunderbird will balk and you will need to disable 0.31 in No Extension mode and then remove it.

Nightly builds will not help. Tried and it's still the same result.

Keep in mind that 0.5 is a Release Candidate and test day was June 1. I am sure Birdie will be working on this to make sure there's a upgrade path that works.

Lightning will re-create the storage.sdb when it doesn't exist in your profile directory upon startup. Removing it will allow 0.31 to start but will also delete all of your calendar information as well.

Unfortunately, I can't lose all my calendar data, so it's not a solution for me...

Hi chaps,

Same problem here, Provider for Google Calendar didn't work with Sunbird 0.31 so I upgraded to 0.5, and now BirdieSync is a pain...

And I can't reinstall Sunbird 0.31 without betting my data .... Arrrghhhh !

Birdie please help us !!

Thanks a lot in advance

BJR,

Whats about the last version, the v1.5.4.5? Does the v0.5 work with BirdieSync v1.5.4.5?

I think that a version which supports Lightning and Sunbird 0.5 will be available next week.

Works great!!! My way to a working BirdieSync Thunderbird+Lightning v0.5 was:
1: Backup all data in Thunderbird
2: Uninstall BirdieSync on PC and PPC
3: Uninstall Lightning v0.3
4: Install lightning v0.5
5: Install BirdieSync

I did not need the Backup but the Devil is a squirrel, as we say in german.... Works great Birdie!
