After updating to Sunbird 0.5 and BirdieSync 1.5.5 I had problems related to BS not recognising the new Sunbird.

Solution: delete the Sunbird folder WITHIN the BirdieSync Progamme folder on the PC. Re-installed BS and it worked fine.

Thanks for the upgrading procedure. :)

If other users have problems upgrading (especially if they cannot access to BirdieSync options after upgrading), they can also refer to this thread.

BirdieSync 1.5.5.0 is released and supports Lightning and Sunbird 0.5.
See... now that kind of support makes BirdieSync worth the money. I'm proud to be a supporter.

Upgrade Instructions?

Could someone post upgrade instructions? It appears to be more than re-installing birdie sync voer 1.5.4.3 (my version number hasn't changed from 1.5.4.3).

I may have it installed and not know it. The behavior has changed (it doesn't crash) but I'm still having problems:
Mailto links (in firefox) with Thunderbird open in the background (intermittently)report that Thunderbid is not responding and I need close thunderbird (closing tbird does allow the mailto link to launch)

BirdieSync does not allow itself to be uninstalled (at least from the addons window) to d oa clean install of 1.5.5.0

I am not sure about the errors you are having, but here is the reinstall process for BirdieSync (as you can't simply upgrade).

- plug your phone in and bring up active sync. you need to do this to access your active sync profile.

- once open and connected to your phone, open the options. Uncheck the sync options related to thunderbird. This way birdiesync is no longer being used during sync.

- leave your phone plugged in and shut down thunderbird (if it's open). Now you can install birdiesync. You can uninstall the program first if you want, but I did not.

- follow the install instructions to the end.

- once installed, open the options again within active sync. You can reselect those thunderbird items you want to sync with your phone. If those items are not available, unplug your phone and then plug it back it.

- I then unplug the phone, now and open thunderbird. It's time to make sure your add-ons are all installed (before syncing with the phone). I had to reinstall lightning at this point since I disabled it to access thunderbird.

- plug your phone in when your done in thunderbird. Everything should now sync.

Well, i tried to follow the instructions but i only got news of the new version through the lightning auto-update...which resulted in t.birds breakdown.
my version of birdie isn´t registered yet. i uninstalled it at pc and ppc. with the ppc it said, birdie could not be deleted completely.
then i tried to connect to active sync to install the very new birdie version but i don´t get a connection to active sync anymore!
no relation and even if i delete the partnership, active sync cannot reestablish a new one...do you know what i can do?

thanks!

Hello cadeira,

If you have problems uninstalling BirdieSync on your mobile and are running under Windows Mobile 5.0, I suggest you to read this thread.

Let me know if you succeed in uninstalling BirdieSync and connect your mobile.

I gave you more information in the "uninstallation" thread. You can can also send to support (at) birdiesync.com the log WCESMgr.log located in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp.

Let me know if you succeed in reinstalling BirdieSync.
Thanks.
