Post by eicherlist »

The message appears on mobile screen.

BirdieSync error
An error happend synchronizing this mobile.
Please disconnect and reconnect this mobile.

After a while the message appears:
BirdieSync (Thunderbird)
Error while launching Thunderbird
Please check that the USB storage device is well connected. Then disconnect and reconnect you mobile to relauch the synchronization.

I have an updated VHB with WMDC: 6.1.6965

What might be the problem? Can I reinstall the client part on the mobile?

Thanks for any help

Hello,

Could you send to support(at)birdiesync.com DeviceProvider.log located in \Program Files\BirdieSync on the mobile right after the error ?

In case you have problem in copying "DeviceProvider.log" on the device because of a sharing violation:

On your device. Launch the file explorer. Go to \Program Files\BirdieSync. Copy and paste DeviceProvider.log on the device (not on the desktop) in the same directory . That should duplicate the file DeviceProvider.log to another file named "Copy of DeviceProvidere.log". This copy will not be locked and you should be able to copy it to the desktop.

The second message seems to indicate that there is a problem with the options of your portable version of Thunderbird. Could you check BirdieSync options ?

Could you send to support(at)birdiesync.com, the following files ? It will help me understand the origin of the error:
- Preferences.xml in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\BirdieSync
- ThunderbirdService.log in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\BirdieSync\Log

Then open BirdieSync options, save the options again (OK button), and copy again the new files as previously and send them to me.

Disconnect and reconnect your mobile. Check if you still have the error on the mobile.

Hello Philippe,

After having closed Thunderbird/Sunbird, disconnected, reconnected your mobile device and waited for the end of the synchronization, could you send your logs with "Tools/BirdieSync/Archive logs..." to support(at)birdiesync.com ?
Thanks.
Birdy
