I'm testing BirdieSync and very interested on it for uninstall definitively OUTLOOK of my PC.

All goes OK but with Activesync 4.2 and WM 5 on my iPaq the syncronization starts every 5 minutes opening Thunderbird for it, excesivelly.

And Activesync 4.2 don't have programation mode because the program button is disabled.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Actually, the 5 minutes between each synchronization is imposed by ActiveSync with mobile running under Windows Mobile 5.0 and as far as I know there is no way to modify this value. :(
Thunderbird needs to be started in order to perform the synchronization. So of course, if it is closed, it will be launched again at next synchronization.
So now there are two possibilities. I know there are ways to prevent synchronization from being launched regularly but in that case, they should be launched manually.
The other possibility is to keep Thunderbird running but it could be for instance minimized in the system tray with a small icon.
Would one of this solution be suitable for you ?
Your feedback is important. I would be interested in knowing it.
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Wath's the way to sincronize manually with new ActiveSync, in old versions I can make this with program options but new Activesync have this option disabled.

The solution found on the net to disable automatic synchronization with ActiveSync and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices was not very satisfying. Another solution to bypass ActiveSync automatic synchronization and to control it manually or at a chosen frequency was developped and is under testing. If the solution is validated, it will be available in next release...

Version 1.2.1.0 has a new mechanism which allows to choose a frequency of synchronization for Windows Mobile 5.0 users. Please, refer to the help file to learn more about some restrictions. I hope it will respond to your expectations.

I have found another way, a freeware program called ActiveSyncToggle that activates and deactivates Activesync with a keyboard combination. symply and efective.

I´m going to test the BirdieSync new version. Thanks.

Yes, I know this little tool which is very nice to stop and restart ActiveSync. I hope that the new BirdieSync functionnality will be more transparent and will suit your needs...
