Extension cache problem

Post by fakie2fakie »

I am currently running Thunderbird portable for U3 2.0.0.9, Lightning 0.7, and Birdiesync 1.6.3.2. When I try to go into sync I get and error. When I try to go into birdiesync options, the options menu is not there...

I saw that to correct this you need to clear the extension cache by deleting the following files:
- extensions.cache
- extensions.ini
- extensions.rdf
- compreg.dat
- xpti.dat
- extensions.ini.old and extensions.ini.new appear in the same directory and I delete them too

I need to do this every time I launch Thunderbird in order to get Birdiesync to run. Is there another fix for this error?

Did this problem appear right after you upgraded your version of BirdieSync ?
In Thunderbird add-on list, which version is displayed near BirdieSync ?
In Thunderbird error console (in Tools menu), do you have a specific error right after you restarted Thunderbird ?

Yes the problem started right after the upgrade to 1.6.3.2. The add on version says 1.6.3.2, but only because I already cleared the cache. Initially after the upgrade it still read the old version number...The error console is blank.
