If BirdieSync 1.x constantly replaces your girlfriend's phone number with your mother's one, this forum is for you...

Lost contacts

Post by SIM »

I just installed birdiesync on my new laptop and all my contacts on htc dash are gone now for some reason. The wierd thing is that
1. It takes a while now to save a new contact
2. I still can see number matching to the missing contacts in text messaging

So that makes me think that contacts aren't actually gone... HOPE SO

Thank you.

Did it happen right after your first synchronization ?
Did you try to unselect Outlook "contact" synchronization ? If yes did you see a message warning you that it will delete your contacts on the mobile ?
If you use a tool like PPCPimBackup, does it find your contacts on the mobile ?

At the moment I haven't even had ms office installed
Don't remember about Outlook sync part
Tried PPCPimBackup. Finds only new contacts...=(

Could you tell me if you are under Windows XP or Vista ?
If you are under XP, did you choose "Replace" option (among "Replace", "Combine" or "Do not synchronize) during the establishment of the new partnership ?
Was your Thunderbird address book empty before synchronizing ?
After the first synchronization, were your contacts synchronized from the mobile to Thunderbird address book ?
Was it the first time you tried to synchronize with BirdieSync or had you tried a previous release ?
Are you under Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0 ?
Thanks.
