"Thanks" to Motorola I can't sync my calendar yet but I can successfully (with the wonderful support of the people from the support of Birdie) synchronize my contacts. Birdie manages to transfer/sync my contacts with photos and birthdays something that the MotoBlur simply fails to do. I'm now looking forward to upgrade to Android2.2 so that I can use the calendar synchronization too. I have to thank here again to the people from support of Birdie. You're simply great!
