BirdieSync 2.0.0.0 beta - bug reports birthday field not syn

Post by user66 »

hello,

i noticed the following problem:

currently, all contacts are synced.
when you fill or edit the birthday field to contacts at thunderbird adressbook they won't be updated on the mobile,
only if you change additional fields in the contact, then the contact will be updated and the birthday will also be synced.

birdiesync 2.0.0.0beta-r is the installed version, using thunderbird 3.0.

thx,
user66

Myself:
Hi,

I'm a user or Birdiesync 1.7 but since I reinstall my PC (Windows 7) and updated to Thunderbird 3, I'm on my way to Birdiesync 2.

The problem is that Birdiesync options do not appear in Sunbird 1.0b2pre (Calendar to be exact)! It shows in Thunderbird no problem.

So, when I Sync, I see in Birdiesync window that Thunderbird is connected but not Sunbird while the program has been opened!

HELP!

PS. The events of my calendar are all online! (and it worked well with Birdiesync's previous version)
I forgot to say that TB3 is in french, so is Birdiesync but Calendar is in english. Could it be the reason of the problem?

Or maybe because I installed version B2 of 18th January instead of 25th November as stated in the release post...

:cry:

(By the way, Thank you for the program Birdy! It's a great job.)

not really a bug but...

the beta (r) - does not work with Thunderbird 3.01.

Do you have a solution for this problem?

Hi,

anyone having problems to connect to the internet with the mobile device after installing BirdieSync2.0.0.0beta? Even after uninstalling BirdieSync trying to go online I get an error message saying something can't find /Programme/BirdieSync/BirdieSync.exe . Is there any fix available?

Thx, AlKlecks.

BTW: BirdieSync did work fine to connect to my Thunderbird3...

There is a work around on the previous page of this thread. You need to edit the relevant "install.rdf" file. Note Birdie's comments (also on the previous page of this thread) as to the correct "max version" to include.

I have two issues with Birdiesync (beta r). When I uninstall it from my mobile and connect my phone to my pc via USB I get messages telling me it can't find "program files\BirdieSync.exe".

Secondly, the install.log file becomes massive and makes my O2 orbit grind to a halt. I presume it's because I don't have BirdieSync installed on my work pc where it is connected most of the day. These are the messages contained in the log (which got up to 11mb before I ran out of space) :

Local 2010-01-21 14:34:42::423 Mobile device cradled

Local 2010-01-21 14:34:49::259 Mobile device cradled

and so on.

Any chance you could limit the size of the log file?

Beta s has just been published. It now supports Thunderbird 3.0.x, Lightning 1.0b1 and Sunbird 1.0b2pre (17th of January) and has various fixes.

@user66:

I tried to reproduce your problem but didn't succeed. Could you give me a step by step scenario so that I can reproduce the problem ?

@alklecks:
@jook:

The problem "cannot find BirdieSync.exe" after uninstallation should be fixed in beta s.

@jook:

I suppose you meant BirdieSync.log instead of install.log. I understand your problem and your analysis seems correct. I'll see what it's possible to do about it.

@Nuntius:

The new beta s should support the last version of Sunbird calendar (1.0b2pre at least 17th of January).
