windows media device centre

Post by jimriley »

just clarifying, when wmdc was installed it requested (or nagged) that outlook be installed even though it's not needed with BS2 and thunderbird. So I uninstalled it. Now trying to upgrade to 2.0.0.1 and the BS install is asking for wmdc. So I need to install wmdc, then BS, then uninstall wmdc again?

Hello Jim,

Yes by now, the WMDC is still needed to install BirdieSync because of the Application Manager of the mobile device. But it's no longer needed to synchronize.
Could you give me the content of your error message ?
Thanks.

The error message just says "install wmdc before installing bs", it's a popup window from the bs installer I think

BirdieSync 2.0.1.0 has just been released: the dependency on the Windows Mobile Device Center to install BirdieSync on the mobile device was removed. So now you can install and run BirdieSync without needing the Windows Mobile Device Center. :)
