BirdieSync

Hello everybody,

My TB version is 3.0.1, BirdieSync 2.0.0.1, Lightning 1.0b1 under Win7 Pro 64bit
I have the problem that TB crashes when creating new email accounts. When I enter the error code in the error console, first comes the following message:

since in the first notification a 2.0.0.1 released, and BirdieSync is the only expansion with this version, I deactivate BS, and already I was able to create new accounts.
One day after this I upgrade TB to 3.0.2, but everything is the same as before.

Anyone here knows a solution how to create new accounts with activated BirdieSync?

Hello Mati,

The first error you got is a Lightning error. The second one I don't know (it maybe related to Thunderbird).
I tried to reproduce your problem but didn't succeed to make Thunderbird crash.

After the crash, could you open the Event Viewer to get the crash information ?

- Open the File Explorer
- Select the Computer icon, right click and select "Manage"
- Go in the Event viewer
- Select for instance the "Windows logs/Application"

You should then find an error regarding "thunderbird.exe" (you can check the date of the error).
In the description of the error in the general tab, in the upper text, you may find different fields separated with comma like the "version", "module" and "offset". Could you give me the details you found ?

unfortunately I can confirm crashing of Thunderbird when creating a new account. (TB 3.0.4, Win 7 32bit german, BirdieSync 2.0.1.5)

First tested in my main thunderbird profile, then tested in a new test profile. There is only one add-on: BirdieSync (addon installed automaticallly, because BirdieSync is installed on system).

Reproducable: When I attempt to create a new account, Thunderbird found the server and I hit the button "Create account", then Thunderbird crashes. Mozilla crash reporter appears with following details:

the test version seems to fix the issue. I created a POP and an IMAP account without any problems, worked like a charm.

The fix was included in version 2.0.1.6 of BirdieSync.
