Hi!

I have an android device since a week. One of fisrt things I did was intalling birdiesync and synchronize my thunderbird contacts. It worked fine both with USB and over the air.

Two days later syncing over the air stopped working, just after a message asking me to update birdiesyc release. Currently I'm using 2.3.2.2. I've not doing any change to the mobile or the PC but everytime I try an over the air sync I get this message:

"Impossible to connect to host 192.168.1.20"

I've checked the firewall rules, even I've deactivated firewall, but nothing ... I still can't sync over the air.

Is ther any know issue with this? Is there any way for troubleshoot the problem? any log?

Thanks!

PS. btw, the sync via USB is ok.

Hello jesusm,

When you say you sync over the air, do you mean by "Wi-Fi" ? (not with a cellular connection since your IP address is a local one)
Did you check that the local IP address of your computer hasn't changed when you rebooted your computer ? You can check your PC address in BirdieSync window, menu File/Options, Connection tab.
If your Wi-Fi address has changed, you may try to use the local hostname instead (also displayed in the Connection tab).
If you restart BirdieSync on the PC (menu File/Exit, then Windows start menu/All Programs/BirdieSync/BirdieSync), does it help ?
Thanks.

Yes, I mean wi-fi connection. And I've checked that the descktop IP address is still the same (actually, I always use fixed IP address on my LAN).

I've tried to reinstall birdiesync both on PC and on the mobile.

Still not working.

Thanks for your help

So if you reboot your PC and your Android device, you still have the same problem (which would be equivalent to a BirdieSync reinstallation) ?
Which firewall do you use ? (I know that you disabled it but sometimes some firewall causes problem event if they are disabled. And it's sometimes necessary to uninstall them)

Yes I still have the problem.

The FW I use is the included with Windows 7. I've checked connectivity with ping and I can see the PC from the mobile without problem.

It may be necessary to send you a new test version with additional traces to try to identify the problem. I should be possible right after the delivery of BirdieSync next version which should be released very soon.

By now, you may send some logs to me. Maybe there will be some useful information.
Try to connect with Wi-Fi and after you get the error message, connect by USB. Then, transfer the mobile device log to the desktop with "Help/Transfer mobile device log" while your mobile is connected.
Then build the log archive BirdieSyncLog.zip with BirdieSync menu "Help/Archive logs...".
You can send BirdieSyncLog.zip to support(at)birdiesync.com
Thanks.

ok, as soon as I return back to my Windows desktop I'll do that and send you the logs.
