Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Jelly Bean Sync Can't Setup

I have been using BirdieSync for years with Win Mobile 6.5, then Android 2.x
I just got new phone Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Jelly Bean and just can't get it to setup. Things are slightly different in Jelly Bean. So maybe I am missing something.
I still have my old phone setup to sync and that works fine as it always has.
One thing that I notice is that when Jelly Bean USB connects, you can pull down USB notification and it has two options, one to be media connection or camera connection .
I recall that if I had my Android 2x device set up as media sync eg able to access device file system from my desktop, that Birdie Sync wouldn't work.
Can anyone give me any information about, if this is a problem, and how to get around it? There doesn't appear to be an option to turn off the Jelly Bean USB connection so Birdie Sync can do its job.
Or perhaps maybe I have a completelly diff issue that someone has encountered?
Maybe there is an issue with having two devices setup?
Hmmm .. thx
