Calendar sync question

I am a new user who downloaded the trial version of BirdieSync today. I looked through the forum and faq's, but can't seem to find an answer to this.

If my android phone is connected to BirdieSync at the time I delete an event on the phone, it starts a sync going. I really don't want to have any automatic syncs like this. Can I set it so it only syncs if I click on the sync button?

Thanks!

Bill

Hello Bill,

Open BirdieSync window (double click on the BirdieSync green icon in Windows task bar), then open menu "File/Options". You may uncheck "Launch the connection right after the connection of the mobile device". This way, synchronization should occur only if you press the synchronization button.

Hello Birdy,

I must have not stated the problem very well. I knew about that setting and have it deselected. No sync starts now when I connect my phone. However, the problem I'm having is that if I connect my phone to my desktop using wi-fi, and I go into my calendar on my phone and delete an event, a sync starts up and deletes the event on my desktop as well.

Is that how it is supposed to work? I'd prefer that a sync not start until I click on the sync button. However, if that is the way it works, I will have to get used to disconnecting before I make any changes to my calendar.

EDIT: Hello Birdy. Maybe this is intentional? I found a FAQ called "My items on the desktop are not synchronized in real time while the mobile device is connected." which seems to indicate that this is the way the android version works. Is that the case?

Thanks,

Bill

I made a test to check the behavior of BirdieSync. Actually with this option unchecked, you no longer launch a full synchronization of the mobile device, but individual modifications while your mobile is connected are still treated immediately. So sorry this option will not answer to your problem. At the moment I think there is no way to prevent BirdieSync from synchronizing an individual modification on the mobile device while it is connected. Note that modifications on the desktop are not immediately synchronized to the mobile device and require a full synchronization to be launched. I agree that it would be better to be able to also disable the treatment of individual modifications on the mobile device if needed. This may be improved with other modifications of the synchronization process in the future.

Birdy,

Thanks so much for the explanation. I can always disconnect my device at this point. An enhancement would be welcomed in the future.

Thanks!
