Hi Birdie,

I am using Birdie for years now and things are really great. Now I have a Problem and I hope, you can help.

I am using CyanogenMod on my HTC one, which then comes with the google calendar app. Everything is working exept the following. When I create an appointment in this app and whant to use the invitation feature, this works when selecting my google calendar but not when selecting birdiesync calendar. No mail with the invitation is then send.

Do you have an idea why this is not working?

Best regards

Quippy

Hello Quippy,

I'll have to do some tests to see if I can reproduce the problem. But note that at first sight, for the moment, it's not possible to choose an email address associated to BirdieSync account to send the invitations (but maybe it could done with a third-party program). Also changing the BirdieSync account email address should be possible in a next version of BirdieSync.

Hi, thanks for the reply! Changing the eMail-Adress in BirdieSync might help a lot.

By the way: I guess that this works with a Google Calendar as follows:
- Enter a new appointment and invite Guests to that. Choose your Google Calendar to place the appointment
- Sync starts and transfers the appointment to google servers, where this calendar ist located
- google than notices the guests and sends eMail-Invitations to the provided eMail-Adresses
- Answers are send to the google server and synced back to your mobile phone

That means that the calendar app does nothing - it works through the sync process. Birdie could simulate that, so that thunderbird sends invitations when synchronizing. But that is no good.
First: in case we need to do a complete resync - all invitations would be resend than.
Second: sync with thunderbird might be only once a week - so this is not quite imediately...

The other way I suggest would be that the birdie app recognizes the new appointment with guest invitation, creates an ICS attachment and starts the default eMail program of the phone to send the Mails...

What do you think?
