Hallo,
I have some trouble with synchonizing more than one Thunderbird address book to my iPhone and hope that you can help me with this issue. BirdieSync is not able to create groups on the iPhone and therefore cannot sync the contacts of the correspondant address books.
What I have already tried:
1. I have set the contact configuration to the one which should be able to sync TB several address books to one iPhone address book.
2. I have assigned the TB address books to the correspondant ones in the iPhone. (Maybe this is the problem but if I do not assign them there is a warning and the TB address book is not syncronised at all.)
What can I do to sync all my TB addressbooks to the one on the iPhone?
Thanks for your helb.

PS: A work-around is to add add at least the main address book via CardDAV account and sync the second main address book with BirdieSync (my CardDAV account only knows one address book and I do not want to mix all my address books). However, while the CardDAV account works properly BirdieSync also synchronizes this one to TB in the second main address book. Is there a possibility to avoid the sync of this CardDAV account contacts?

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
Hello slengfe,
In order to better analyze your problem, could you please build a log archive with BirdieSync menu "Help/Archive logs..." and send BirdieSyncLog.zip to support(at)birdiesync.com ?
Thanks.
Do you mean that you selected "group" virtual address book mode for your iPhone in BirdieSync configuration ? ("each contact group represents an address book")I have set the contact configuration to the one which should be able to sync TB several address books to one iPhone address book.
That seems correct. You need to select (set ON) each synchronized address books on the iPhone and in Thunderbird. Address books which match together (for instance an address book on the iPhone has an identical name as in Thunderbird, or 2 address books with different names are both set as Main) are synchronized together.I have assigned the TB address books to the correspondant ones in the iPhone.

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
Hallo,
The address books No Group and berufliche Kontakte are both main address books. Sonstige Kontakte is the one I have trouble with since it is not synchronised. The "Folder Creation" is not performed due to an unexpected error:

Yes, that is what I mean. This is the screenshot:Birdy wrote:Do you mean that you selected "group" virtual address book mode for your iPhone in BirdieSync configuration ? ("each contact group represents an address book")
I have done that, too:Birdy wrote:You need to select (set ON) each synchronized address books on the iPhone and in Thunderbird.

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
Even if I couldn't see the address books that you set ON for your iPhone, I guess Main address book "No group" was set ON (synchronised with Main address book "berufliche Kontakte" in Thunderbird), and "Sonstige Kontakte" was set ON (synchronized with "Sonstige Kontakte" in Thunderbird).
BirdieSync doesn't succeed in creating "Sonstige Kontakte" group on the iPhone.
Could you tell me if you store your contacts on your iPhone in an Exchange account ? (it is not possible to create groups in Exchange account)
You may look at the default contact in the iPhone settings: Settings / Mails, contacts, calendars / (Contacts section) Default account
(this setting is not necessarily displayed if you only have local contacts; this is not the Default account in Mails section)
If you don't use an Exchange account, right after the error, and while your iPhone is still connected (this is important to be able to retrieve its logs) could you build a log archive with BirdieSync menu "Help/Archive logs...", then send BirdieSyncLog.zip to support(at)birdiesync.com ?
Thanks.

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
Hallo,
yes, all four address books are set ON.Birdy wrote:Even if I couldn't see the address books that you set ON for your iPhone, I guess Main address book "No group" was set ON (synchronised with Main address book "berufliche Kontakte" in Thunderbird), and "Sonstige Kontakte" was set ON (synchronized with "Sonstige Kontakte" in Thunderbird).
I think so; unfortunately I am not administrator of this account (it is an Outlook address book which is in line with my iPhone). However, it used to work before I have added another online account. I had both: The Outlook address book AND the synchronized (via BirdieSync) other address books.Birdy wrote:Could you tell me if you store your contacts on your iPhone in an Exchange account ? Which setting is selected ? Do you have other possible choices than Outlook/Exchange ?
(new groups and contacts should be created in this default account)

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
Hallo,
yes I have my Standard Account (it's my professional one) and another account for private contacts. Actually, it is another group which I formerly used to synchronize via Birdiesync to my iPhone.

Re: Synchronize several Thunderbird Address Books with iPhone
If you wish to synchronize several address books in Thunderbird and be able to create new groups on the iPhone, then it would be necessary to select a non Exchange account as the default contact account on your iPhone, like "On My iPhone" or "iCloud".
But note that if you do so, when you create a new contact on the iPhone, it will be created in this default contact account and not in your Exchange account.
