Hi,
it seems a simple trouble but it make me crazy.
I've installed v3 beta on Pc and Galaxy S5 too.
I'm quite sure to have configured with accuracy but the results is "connection user or password mismatch".
The Android part seems connected to PC, find the host right but, immediately after, dispaly that message. Not to mention what times I've replaced user name, password and deleted the user on PC too.
Could anybody help me to avoid psichiatric hospital?

Did you check there is not a hidden space before of after the connection user name ? (in BirdieSync settings on your Android device, and in the User edition window on the PC)
The user name is not case sensitive but the password is.
If you still have the problem, right after the user name and password mismatch error, and while your Android device is connected, can you build a log archive with menu "Help/archive logs..." and send it to to support(at)birdiesync.com ?
