Cannot sync calendars with BirdieSync 1.6.0.2

Post by MonkeyDispenser »

I've just upgraded to 1.6.0.2 and everything seemed to go fairly well but now I cannot synchronise my device with Lightning. Events and Tasks in ActiveSync just dispay 'Attention Required'. The problem seems to be caused by there being no calendars displayed in the BirdieSync Options->Calendar->Calendar tab of Thunderbird. I have no idea why all of my calendars have disappeared from here as they are still displayed in Thunderbird itself and work fine.

There are several calendars; a mixture of standard Lightning and Google. Nothing has changed since before I upgraded from 1.6.0.0 to 1.6.0.2.

These are the details from the ThunderbirdService.log which is where I seem to get errors:

Local 13/09/2007 09:00:44::0187 ERROR: Error while opening file for reading: C:\Documents and Settings\Jason.WOLVERINE\Application Data\Mozilla\Sunbird\\\profiles.ini (GetLastError = 0)

Hopefully it's just something obvious that I've missed!

Thanks in advance for any help...

Hello,

It's a regression introduced in 1.6.0.2. Small change, big effects. The problem should be fixed in 1.6.0.3. Sorry for the annoyance.

Same problem here, also with 1.6.0.3. German localized thunderbird. No calendars shown in options. Btw. the Add-On still says BirdieSync 1.5.7.0. Is that correct?

Regarding the incorrect version number, you could refer to the last paragraph of this thread.

If you still have the problem, then could you send to support(at)birdiesync.com the files ThunderbirdService.log and Preferences.xml (location in this thread).

Downloaded version still saying it's 1.6.0.2. Shouldn't it be 1.6.0.3? Still the same problem after upgrade procedure.

I downloaded and installed the version from the web site: it is the 1.6.0.3.
When you start the installation, does it mention 1.6.0.3 in the first panel ?
Or is the 1.6.0.2 you mentioned displayed in Thunderbird extension list ?

Ok, seems the proxy here, which I can't get around caches executables also. Got the 1.6.0.3 now and everything works fine! Thx for the superior support.

Thanks guys, 1.6.0.3 has solved the problem!

Now if only I could get some of the programmers where I work to be even half as responsive to customer problems... ;-)

Hello kresobradic,

Which problem ? No calendar present in list in BirdieSync otpions ?

In that case, could you send to support(at)birdiesync.com the files ThunderbirdService.log and Preferences.xml (location in this thread).
Thanks.

Before synchronization is started list of calendars under calendar tab (left bottom box in Thunderbird) shows all my calendars and remote on google google and elsewhere.
After synchronization started Cards passed OK but Events and Tasks finished with Attention required and in Calendars tab (I mentioned it before) all calendars are replaced with <Unknown n> where n goes from 0 to max numbers of calendars I am using.
