Unresolved items

Post by Juggler »

Hi there,
When I experience a problem with a mail that won't sync in BirdieSync (more often than I'd like but not often enough to make me go back to Outlook!) I often find the major problem is locating the offending mail.

If there any way that BirdieSync can be made to identify where the problem is to save me working through all the mail accounts that a sync'd and all the new messages?

Hello,

You can check out the logs:
- DeviceProvider.log on the mobile in \Program Files\BirdieSync
- ThunderbirdService.log on the desktop in:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<users name>\Application Data\BirdieSync\Log\
Vista: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\BirdieSync\Log
(Application Data is a hidden folder: in explorer window, you must check the option "Show hidden files and folders")

If you sometimes have unresolved items with mails, could you send to support(at)birdiesync.com these logs if they contain some errors ?
Thanks.

Hi there,
I never did get to the bottom of this, I still get unresolved items quite frequently, but the logs give me no clue as to which mail causes the problem.

I am not yet sure that the error in this log is related to your problem.
When you have this unresolved item, at the end of the synchronization could you immediately copy all the logs as described in this thread and send them to support(at)birdiesync.com.

Also, if you disconnect and reconnect your mobile, does the unresolved item disappear ?

Thanks.
Birdy
