Recurring component not found

Post by Schleifmeister »

Hi,

while evaluating BirdieSync I stumbled over the following error while synchronizing one of my calenders:
Error number: 0x804a0251
Error description: Recurring component not found. Only happens when recurring=1 is passed in by fetch commands. This code is returned if part of the recurring series (either the master or an exception) is missing.

Thunderbird: 2.0.0.16
Lightning: 0.8
Calender: Sun Java System Calender (WCAP)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate

Google-Calender Synchronisation as well as local works perfect for me. If you need more information let me know. Hopefully this can be fixed

TIA

Hello,

Actually, this is very likely a known issue. There is presently a problem in Lightning/Sunbird which doesn't properly handle invitations which are occurrences of a recurring series. These problems are referenced in bugzilla but haven't been fixed yet.
Did you receive invitations in your calendar which are particular occurrences of a recurring series ? (for instance you received an invitation for a particular day of an event which occurs every month)

The only solution would be to patch the WCAP provider of Lightning/Sunbird. But this patch is not available right now. Maybe for Lightning/Sunbird 0.9.

Hi Birdy,

thanks for your answer. Of course most of my events are recurring but the fewest are invitations. Is there a way to find out what event raises the error in detail ?
I stay in close contact with developers of lightning and will hand this information over. Maybe I can get some information...
Btw.: What do you think how long it will take BirdieSync supports lightning 0.9 if released ?

Thanks
