Hi,
after the fiasco of having dozens of "worthless" contacts on my smartphone, see here (and btw, my old normal contacts that used to be on the phone were GONE alltogether as well) I do of course want to get rid of this program. Sorry folks, but you've ruined it for me.
My question is: How can I uninstall birdiesync from my PC (uninstalling on smartphone went fine) ? Is there a reason why your uninstaller is so plain stupid that it keeps saying "Impossible to shutdown ActiveSync" ?
Note that your guides to solve this problem (mentioned in FAQ) does N O T (!) work. I do ALWAYS(!) get the "Impossible to shutdown ActiveSync" message, also if:
- Active sync is not running anymore at all (all three processes were killed manually before)
- Active sync (re-)started (only the two WCE processes are active)
So, how do I get rid of your product?
How uninstall BirdieSync
Re: How uninstall BirdieSync
Hello,
Did you select the "Replace" option when you first established the partnership with ActiveSync ? That could explain why you lost the contacts that used to be on the phone.
Do you have a Windows Mobile 6.x device ? If yes had you selected Outlook contact synchronization, then unselected it or deleted the partnership ?
I sent you by email a new version that should force ActiveSync to shutdown.
Could you tell me more about the circumstances ? Did it happen at the first synchronization ?my old normal contacts that used to be on the phone were GONE alltogether

Re: How uninstall BirdieSync
Hello,
yes, I must have selected the "Replace" option unintentionally (there's nothing else that could explain this situation to me), since I've lost the contacts upon the first synchronisation.
The new uninstaller you've sent to me worked, I was able to uninstall BirdieSync.

Re: How uninstall BirdieSync
Hi Birdie;
I too an trying to uninstall BirdieSync and am getting the dreaded "Impossible to shutdown ActiveSync" error. I uninstalled ActiveSync last year right after I returned my HP PDA and abandoned Windoze Mobile on PDAs in favor of the far better and cooler Nokia n810 Internet Tablet. (which runs a version of Debian and is a fabulous device for geeks - Linux in the palm of one's hand!)
Nothing against your product, it did what it was designed to do well.
You ought to consider posting the uninstall tool on a website to avoid having to email it to people.
Can you please help?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: How uninstall BirdieSync
Hello Steve,
Actually there is no special tool to uninstall BirdieSync. The version sent to NameZero912 was an enhanced uninstaller to manage his problem.
I also sent you a new version of the uninstaller. It should be able to uninstall BirdieSync even if ActiveSync or the WMDC is not installed on your machine.
