Unlock Treo 800w

Post by ott13979 » Sat Jan 31, 2009 4:30 am

Has anyone had any experience unlocking the Treo 800w? I've installed the SDA_ApplicationUnlock on my SD card but it tells me that "is not a valid Pocket PC application"

Any help?

Hello ott13979,

This program should not be executed on the mobile device but on the desktop.

Thanks Birdie.... My bad on not seeing that....

I ran "SDA_ApplicationUnlock" the first box says...

"Remove Lock"

cool.... next box says...

"phone is not unlockable"

not sure what that means...?.... next box says....

"SDA successfully unlocked."
"PLEASE REBOOT SDA NOW!"

not sure what that means.... can you help?

thanks

Are you sure that the Treo 800w needs to be application unlocked ? From what I read it seems that it has a touch screen. So it is considered as a Pocket PC (which generally don't have to be "application unlocked").
During the installation, did the BirdieSync installer display a security warning asking you to "application unlock" it ?
Could you tell me the content of BirdieSyncInstall.log located in:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp\
Vista: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp
Thanks.

No it seems to be OK. The first error traces could be there if your mobile device hadn't been connected yet when you launched the installer.
And the traces show that the mobile device is "application unlocked". The only thing to do is to answer "yes" on the mobile device to authorize the execution of DeviceProvider.dll after you have installed BirdieSync.

Did you succeed in installing BirdieSync ?
Did you see a warning asking you to "application unlock" your mobile device ?
If not do you have another problem configuring BirdieSync or synchronizing ?
