Installation not working on mobile

Post by fudge »

I have used BirdieSync for over a year now and think it's fantastic.
I have been trying to upgrade to the new version and have been left very frustrated, as all it's done so far is delete all my contacts from my mobile to replace them, but then doesn't.
It appears to install ok on my PC, but says that it is not installed on my mobile.
I have reinstalled it on my mobile a number of times by dropping the .cab file in using windows explorer on my PC. It asks to reinstall, so I ok it. I get no completed message.
I'm using the latest TBird, windows XP, lightning, and an O2 xda 2i.
Please help, I don't know what else to try.

Hello fudge,

So you mean that the Windows mobile installer asks you if you want to replace your version of BirdieSync, you answer yes, but never get the "successfully installed" message ?

After the reconnection of your mobile device, could you send your logs to support(at)birdiesync with the Thunderbird/Sunbird menu "Tools/BirdieSync/Archive logs..." ?
Thanks.

Ermm, I'm not very techy, could you tell me exactly which file you need and where to find it please.
Sorry to be a pain.

After your mobile is connected, launch the log archiver (Thunderbird/Sunbird menu "Tools/BirdieSync/Archive logs..."), then press the "Generate log archive" button (in BirdieSync 2.0.1.0 or "Start" in a previous version). When the process is completed (full green bar), copy the log archive that was generated (BirdieSyncLog.zip) and send it to support(at)birdiesync.com. This archive is usually located in your Documents folder (the path is displayed in the Log archiver window).
Thanks.
