Windows 7 + WMDC + Windows Mobile 6.1 .... does it work?

I read, a while ago, that BirdieSync requires ActiveSync to be installed on the PC. Is still the case, or does it now work with Windows 7 and WMDC?

Setup:
Windows 7 PC (with WMDC, of course)
Windows Mobile 6.1 Phone (Samsung SCH-i910)

Question:
Will it sync calendar, contacts, tasks and email?

Yes, it should work.
The WMDC should not be necessary since the mobile device drivers are already present in Windows 7. But some users may still requires the WMDC for some reason to be able to connect their mobile device.
