Some contact-fields on Android are filled sevral times

Post by Bin_der_Boss »

Hi,

excuse my Englich please.

So I use Thunderbird 12 on PC and my cellphone is a Galaxy Nexus using Android.

First time I made the synchro, all contacts where perfect.
But, after made it several times, I remarked that some fields are filled several times with the same value.
Till now, I found the fields "website-address" and "notes" (I hope I translate it correctly from German).
These two fields have 4 times the same content...

Do you know what I can do to avoid this problems.

Best regards,
Marc

Hello Marc,

I tried to reproduce the problem but didn't succeed. Here is what I did:

- Create a contact in Thunderbird with first name and last name, home web page and a note
- Synchronize it
- Modify first name in Thunderbird and synchronize (2 times)
- Modify web page and note and synchronize

There were no duplicates in web page and note fields in Android contact.

When you say "some fields are filled several times with the same value", do you mean that you have several web page fields for instance or that you have one web page field containing a web page address repeated several times (concatenated) ?
Can you choose the type of the web page address on your Android device ?
Would you have a precise scenario that I could try to reproduce ?
Thanks.

Hi Birdie,

It's OK.
It seems, that the problem was caused at the moment where I updated form Thunderbird 11 to 12.
I have now deleted all contacts on android.
No any problem with the synchro from Thunderbird to the phono now.
