I'm one of those 'difficult' people who uses linux (ubuntu 24.04). Birdiesync has been running really well for several years, syncing my Thunderbird contacts and calendar with my Samsung Android mobile.
My Thunderbird was recently updated to version 140, so my regular synchronisation required an updated version of Birdiesync (for the first time in many months). However, Wine has also been updated in the mean time, to version 10 (winehq stable version), and now the installation fails. When it gets to the stage of cleaning up the previous version it says:
"Could not get Linux Home directory. Please ensure that Wine is configured with a drive like Z: to access Linux global file system".
Z is configured to be / (as it always has been).
I have tried a fresh installation, both 3.2.13.0, and also the previous version. Both now fail in the same way, both on my normal desktop and my laptop. I have several other applications running under Wine, and none have this issue.
Has anyone else had this problem, or have ideas as to a solution?
