Synchronisation very slow

Hello,
I've recently started using BirdieSynch (1.6.9) to synch my Moto Q smart phone (WM 6) with Thunderbird (2.0) for contacts and calendar (lightning 0.

. My thudnerbird calendar is linked to my online google calendar via the google calendar provider (0.4). All seems to be working but it is very very slow. It takes from 10-30 seconds per calendar event, even when I only have 4-5 new ones. It doesn't seem to be nearly as slow with contacts. After searching previous forums I noticed this question before but was unclear what the resolution was. I do note that thunderbird is maxed out while this is going on. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Hello Will,
I added a new section "Slow synchronization" in the
thread mentioning the limitations with the Google calendar provider.

Hi Birdy,
Thanks for the help. I may check into the alternate method you indicated or just wait for a solution from the google calender provider. Thanks.

Hello,
I'm a new user of this software I found very usefull, but unfortunately, I quickly had the same problem synchronising my pocket PC from google calendar. Is there any news for this problem ?
Thanks.

Hello,
No news for the moment. Google hasn't provided the enhancement yet.

Hello,
does the new version of "google provider" and "lightning" change anything in the speed of syncronisation with birdiesync ?

Hello Diplo95,
No, the new versions shouldn't improve the speed if you have a lot of events in your Google calendar.
The fix/enhancement should be performed by Google. And they haven't done anything yet...
Note also that Google is presently working to make calendars accessible with calDAV protocol.

Just to inform you that a workaround was found to speed up synchronization with Google calendars if you have a high number of events. You may install BirdieSync version
1.7.0.3.
