Re: Starting with iOS 14.5 BirdieSync App fails to "Find BirdieSync server"
Hello KingTutt, I'm sorry for the annoyance. It seems that iOS 14.5 now requires BirdieSync app an additional permission so that it is able to dialog and locate BirdieSync server. The appropriate Apple service has been contacted so that BirdieSync app is granted such permission. Let's hope they'll a...

Re: Can't synchronize Events more than 1 year in future
Hello Maxx, I already answered to you by email from the Help desk, but I'll also answer on this forum in case other users face the same problem: Due to internal technology (API) limitations on Apple devices, it is only possible to synchronize events on a 4 years period. Which means that it's possibl...

Re: how to resolve <null date> failures
Hello osh000,
While your mobile device is connected to BirdieSync server (this is important to be able to retrieve its logs), could you please build a log archive with BirdieSync menu "Help/Archive logs..." and send it to support(at)birdiesync(dot)com ?
Thanks.

Re: Problem syncing "notes" in contacts
Hello eTom, This problem has been identified and a special authorization request has been sent to Apple who finally granted it. But the provided entitlement was not the one expected and would cause the loss of settings and synchronization configuration. Following review team recommendation, Apple su...

Re: BirdieSync under wine on linux
I made tests on an older version of Ubuntu (18.04). I checked and the event and task calendars were properly displayed. So you mean that you see the name of an address book among the calendar list of events and tasks ? Can you confirm that Thunderbird is connected to BirdieSync server ? (you should ...

Re: BirdieSync under wine on linux
I made some tests under Linux, running BirdieSync with Wine. I could successfully display all address books in "Configuration" view. If you don't see all your address books, that may because "Filter" button is enabled. By default, empty calendars with no matching calendar enabled in other sources ar...

Re: BirdieSync under wine on linux
Hello Pastim, Some efforts were done in the past to make BirdieSync compatible with Wine. Wine doesn't fully support all Windows API calls, and cannot replicate the exact behavior of these APIs. Anyway, it was possible to run BirdieSync on Wine after some tweaks and specific internal adaptations. Yo...

Re: Thunderbird 3.2.4.2 -- Sooooo sloooow
Checking for duplicates might take time (as Combine first synchronization mode) because all contacts on each sources need to be compared one by one. So it is not recommended to leave this option checked all the time if you want to have quick synchronizations.

Re: Thunderbird 3.2.4.2 -- Sooooo sloooow
Hello ajramsayjaneway, How many contacts do you have in your address books ? There are 2 things to consider: - Firstly if you've just updated from Thunderbird 68 to Thunderbird 78, it was necessary to reset synchronisation and resynchronize all contacts from scratch because of Thunderbird internal c...

Re: Thunderbird 78.01 BirdieSync no connect
Hello Lzalo, If no BirdieSync button (green synchronization icon with "BirdieSync" text on the right) is displayed on the right of Thunderbird menu (icon with 3 horizontal bars), that may indicate that BirdieSync add-on is not properly loaded. Open Thunderbird menu "Add-ons" and select "Extensions" ...

Re: Apple iPhone Contact's Birthday can cause Sync Failure
Hello Mike, I could make some tests regarding the managing of birthday dates without a year on iOS. As you mentioned it seems that birthdays without a year may be associated with year 1604. Note that if you manually enter this year in the contact birthday, the year disappears. It's the same year whi...
