It worked also fine with my machine (Windows 7 Pro), but the problem, that I have to close it using the X on the mobile device, I've also noticed.

I've an HTC Touch Diamond with Windows Mobile 6.1

Happy new year and all the best for 2010 to all of you !

A new beta version was published to extend the trial period for users who have tried the beta since the beginning.

@Kai:

I'll check the "default email message" issue.

@jangliss:
the app jumps to the front of the screen (impressive for a background service), and blacks out the screen
At which moment did you see this behavior ? Did you have an error message ? Which message was displayed ? Did it prevent you from accessing to the other applications of the computer ?

@alphamaennchen:
I have to close it using the X on the mobile device
What do you mean by "the X" ?
Do you mean that you closed BirdieSync process on the mobile device ? (BirdieSync should never stop running on the mobile device)

Thanks.

Hi,

I got a similar issue with birdiesync jumping to foreground, at the taskbar appears "BirdieSynch" instead of "Start" and the X to close appears, I have to tap somewhere at a blank area of the screen before I can do anything.

My phone is an Samsung I900 Omnia with stock-firmware(WM 6.1) running Spb Mobile Shell, this appears even if Mobile Shell is turned of, every time I connect my phone to the PC or I connect to wifi.

Maybe this image will help you to understand what i mean, sorry for my bad english :wink:

I sychronisiere four Calendars with BirdieSync.
One of four ical calendar will sync double dates. And One of four sync sequence dates one hour postponed. The two Calendars are from a "Sun Java System Calendar Server (WCAP)".

The reason why BirdieSync was brought to the foreground was identified and will be fixed in the next release of BirdieSync.

@jga:

What do you mean exactly ? Are the events only duplicated on the mobile device ? Are ALL the events duplicated ?
And One of four sync sequence dates one hour postponed.
What do you mean by "sequence dates" ?
Which time zones do you have on your mobile device, Lightning/Sunbird, Windows and on your WCAP server (if relevant) ?
What is the model of you mobile device ?
Thanks.

Using BirdieSync beta-q to synchronise with a Dell Axim v51 synchronisation occurs normally but a warning dialog box appears on the Axim saying that it cannot activate BirdiSync. Doesn't seem to make any difference to the synchronisation but ...?

I'm not sure this is birdiesync causing the problem. I have the htc touch pro 2 (win 6.1) and have it configured to connect with tb3/lightning 1.0b2pre (to allow use of the google calendar sync addon with TB3).

the phone will check on proper interval for mail on multiple pop accounts when disconnected from the computer. When connected to the computer (usb), i receive the error "Cannot connect to the incoming mail server". If I unplug the usb cable, I can connect to the mail server (no other change necessary).

HTC Kaiser WM6.1 WWE, WindowsXP on PC, BirdieSync beta-q
after connecting with any type of network [wifi, gprs, activesync with pc] a window popups on the pda - built with only taskname ["BirdieSync" showed on the title bar on pda, and the "[X]" button shows up to close that]. well, it's probably not a bug, but it's very annoying, because this "window" stays up whole time, even when I disconnect my pda - and the rest of the buttons on the screen are freezed until I close the BirdieSync window or press taskbar in the place where normally "Start" menu is.

@jga:
I think it will be necessary to send you a test version to investigate on your problem.

@tolmalp:

What is the exact error message ?

@drkramer:
If your mobile device is connected with ActiveSync, it stops WIFI connections. You cannot have both USB connections and WIFI at the same time. That may explain your error.

@peejay:
This problem will be fixed in next version.

When beta-q is installed in Thunderbird 3 as addon, then TB3 crashes immediatelly after you want to delete any account from Account Settings. i don't know if this occured in previous betas because i noticed it just now. problem disappears if i disable BirdieSync addon and restart TB3. when enabled - problem is back.
